About the Editor
Carla Alvarez is the curator behind Classic Christmas Stories and Classic Christmas Stories for Children, two anthologies that gather beloved Christmas tales from writers like Charles Dickens, Hans Christian Andersen, and Beatrix Potter. She began collecting these stories out of a conviction that too many modern Christmas tales have grown thin — long on sentiment, short on substance. The classics, by contrast, offer both a window into how people once lived and a steady reminder of what Christmas actually means, season after season.
Carla curates these collections under Cranberry Classics, her imprint at Efusion Media Group dedicated to republishing works of enduring literary and spiritual value. Her flagship project for the imprint is the only fully annotated edition of George MacDonald’s A Dish of Orts on the market today. She holds a Master’s degree in Cultural Apologetics from Houston Baptist University, was a founding board member and contributing editor of An Unexpected Journal, and lives in Houston, Texas, with her three daughters.
